McVey Multimedia, Inc. is a producer of commercial, industrial and entertainment video projects.  Based in southwest Virginia, the company was founded in 1997 by Rick McVey, a professional actor with extensive experience in production.  As a writer/producer, Rick has overseen the production of hundreds of television and radio commercials and dozens of long-form video presentations.  He has also appeared as a performer in scores of theatrical productions, including work on stage, radio, television and motion pictures.  He is currently a member of the Resident Acting Company at the historic Barter Theatre in Abingdon, Virginia. 

"Freedom", a feature-length independent film, premiered Summer 2007 at the Abingdon Cinemall in Abingdon, Virginia.  (View the latest movie trailer HERE.)  The film is based on the true story of Theodore Allen and A.A. Carr, two Union soldiers captured during the Battle of Rogersville in November 1863 and their subsequent escape.  The project was filmed entirely on location in east Tennessee and southwest Virginia and has won numerous awards including Best Feature at the 2008 Virginia Independent Film Festival, and Best Film, Best Direction, Best Cinematography and Best Adapted Screenplay at the 2007 Southern Appalachian Independent Film Festival.
